About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Drafter (Piping) – Virtual Assistant to support our Australian engineering team in preparing accurate, high-quality mechanical and piping drawings for water treatment, water infrastructure, and industrial projects. The successful candidate will possess strong technical drafting skills, experience in mechanical and piping design, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
● Prepare detailed mechanical and piping drawings based on engineering sketches, mark-ups,
specifications, and project requirements.
● Produce Piping General Arrangement (GA) drawings, piping layouts, isometric drawings,
fabrication drawings, and equipment arrangement drawings.
● Prepare and update piping support details, spool drawings, and installation drawings.
● Revise and maintain drawing revisions throughout the design and project lifecycle.
● Ensure all drawings comply with relevant Australian Standards, client specifications, and project
requirements.
● Coordinate with mechanical engineers, process engineers, project managers, and other
stakeholders to ensure drawing accuracy and completeness.
● Interpret Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), process flow diagrams (PFDs), equipment
datasheets, and engineering specifications.
● Assist in developing construction-ready documentation for water treatment plants, pump
stations, pipelines, and associated mechanical systems.
● Maintain organized drawing registers, revision records, and project documentation.
● Support engineering teams by incorporating design changes and ensuring timely delivery of
project documentation.
Required Skills & Experience
● Proven experience as a Mechanical Drafter, Piping Drafter, or Mechanical Design Draftsperson.
